Pre-K - 5th Grade Summer Reading Program Rules
- Use the grade that your child will be entering in the fall to register for the correct reading program.
- You may begin logging reading minutes after your child is registered for the program. You may log minutes at any time through the ReadSquared App or on the website. Registration begins May 27 and the Reading Program will run through Saturday, July 12th.
- Children will earn play money to be spent at the Summer Reading store. Play money to be spent in the Summer Reading store will be awarded at the following intervals:
Pre-K - 1st Grade: $10 for every 25 minutes
2nd - 3rd Grade: $10 for every 50 minutes
4th - 5th Grade: $10 for every 75 minutes
- Participants must collect their play money at the library in person.
- Participants may earn $10 extra play money for each in-person library program they attend. See the events calendar for a full list of events.
- Children will complete the Summer Reading Program once they reach the following reading goals:
Pre-K - 1st Grade: 250 minutes
2nd - 3rd Grade: 500 minutes
4th - 5th Grade: 750 minutes
- Upon reaching their reading goal, children will receive the following:
Bonus $50 in play money for the Summer Reading store
One entry in the Children's Grand Prize Drawing
One free book
- Once the child has completed the program, they can keep reading to earn additional play money for the store and additional entries in the Children's Grand Prize Drawing at the following intervals:
Pre-K - 1st Grade: $10 play money and 1 Grand Prize Drawing entry for every 25 minutes
2nd - 3rd Grade: $10 play money and 1 Grand Prize Drawing entry for every 50 minutes
4th - 5th Grade: $10 play money and 1 Grand Prize Drawing entry for every 75 minutes
